Very tacky indeed.

I love that guy's comment too! I guess he didn't get any complaints because people were complaining to the company instead of the town council. Because I think there was plenty of complaining going down.

"I was unmoved."

Priceless.

Thanks, Dawn!Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722667383694168074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5728697892979323999.post-1171926996341083702011-04-15T09:58:21.265-07:002011-04-15T09:58:21.265-07:00Years ago, there was an Oprah episode airing about...Years ago, there was an Oprah episode airing about anorexia. The guests were anorexic and bulimic young people, and there was a spot done about several young people who had died from those disorders. Cue commercial and it's an advertisement for Jenny Craig Diet Centers. I found that to be the most distasteful, disrespectful and flagrantly slack management. They had to know who had purchased advertising for that particular day's episode - yet they allowed the ads to run in blatant contradiction of the show's content. They even called out diet providers such as Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine meals for "sending the wrong message that being thin is the only acceptable body type". Apparently Jenny Craig Dieting centers weren't sending the same message, which is absurd. I just thought it was tacky in the extreme.

As for whether your funeral home situation is funny or not, I guess it all depends on where you are in your personal life. I thought the response of county council member was typically British, and admit that his comment made me laugh more than the billboard issue itself.

~ DawnHealing Morninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03236609802381940498noreply@blogger.com
