TV & Stuff

Got some good news today.  Well, sort of good news.  I called the TV repair place, and it looks like we'll be getting our TV back relatively soon.  It's a good thing that I was proactive and called them, because they certainly weren't going to call us.  The wife asked the guy to call us when they had an estimate for how long the repair would take.  He said they would.

Yeah, right.

So I called them at lunch today and was told that they had isolated the problem and that they were waiting for the part to come in before they could fix it.  Supposedly, it will be about 5 days, but with Easter Weekend and everything, this means we're without a TV until at least Wednesday, and probably Thursday.  I guess the repair's going to be cheap enough that Future Shop will pay for it.  In a way that's too bad, because if they would, we could go out this weekend and find one.  Oh well.

We decided to take advantage of the situation and move the living room around.  Get the TV (or where the TV's going to go, anyway) off of the TV stand and up on the mantle. Rearrange the rest of the furniture, get rid of some stuff, and basically try to get a bit more room in the Living Room.  It will be nice to do this without having to move the TV around.  This way, we can get everything switched around and just put the TV where it's supposed to go once we have it back.

Yet for some reason I'm trepidatious.

I am horrible at major projects like this.  I'm not organized; I have trouble making big decisions about where things should go.  I kind of have an idea of what we'd like the Living Room to look like after we're done.  It will just be a lot of work getting it that way.

There's no good reason for me to feel this way.  It will be nice when we're done and it may be fun trying to figure the perfect way to get things situated.  But it's just something that makes me freeze up, almost like a piece of machinery that just stops working until you give it a big WHACK with your hand.  My brain shuts down and I don't want to think about it.

We're still going to do it.  I know this is the best time to do it.  I can't let feelings like this get in the way of doing things that should be done.  Laziness and/or fear shouldn't stop you from doing something.  I'm sure I'll be fine once we get started.

It's just getting started that sucks.

Anyway, that's tomorrow's job, and maybe into Saturday if it takes that long.  And then next week, we get our TV back and all is right with the world.

If I don't drown in the process.

  5. Nothing like a fresh start for Springtime. You can clean the windows and dust the baseboards and wash the curtains and make it all fresh and sweet smelling. Maybe the Easter Bunny will be so happy he'll reward you with lots of chocolate. You might as well enjoy it cause from the sound of it....it's goin' down with or without you ! If it's without you, you may be sleeping on the newly repositioned sofa, so you might want to rethink the whole fear factor thingy. Love ya....let us know how it turns out.

  6. We managed to get it done, at least to the point that we can live with it for tonight. We're exhausted, but satisfied.

    But cleaning? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Well, we did sweep the floor where there used to be furniture.

    Is that good?
