Welcome to my new blog!

Now that I can post to my blog from my iPhone (new gadgets really get you to do things, don't they?), I decided to start blogging again. This has been happening in stops and starts for a couple of years now with my blog on Livejournal, but this time I'm going to do my best to stick with it.

With a new beginning, I've decided to start completely over and use Blogger instead of Livejournal, giving me a fresh start and a lot more tools to use. As time goes on, hopefully I'll be able to make it look better (like how to stretch that picture in the header all the way across instead of the abbreviated way it is right now), but I figure a couple of posts will do more to get me started than anything else.

I'll still keep the Livejournal account active (the link is over on my blog roll), but I'll probably import a few of my better posts into this one.

Anybody who's read my other one knows that this blog will be eclectic. There's not one specific topic for it. Will that turn off the readership? I hope not. (Shout from the peanut gallery: "What readership?") There will be some hockey coverage, as I am an avid Canucks fan. I'm a conservative, so there may be some political posts if I feel the urge. I'm a reader and movie-goer, so there will be book and movie reviews, as well as posts about writing reviews. Basically, if it pops into my head, I may post about it.

So to my new followers (that's all of you), welcome! I hope you'll enjoy reading this.

P.S. As I was typing this post, my computer decided to freeze up completely. Not an auspicious beginning. I hope it's not an omen.
