Just wanted to post a brief note to say that Curled Up With a Good Book has posted my review of Frank McLynn's book, Marcus Aurelius: A Life. This is an extremely interesting but horrendously tedious biography of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. Aurelius, famous for his book of thought called Meditations, was a stoic philosopher who tried very hard to rule with his stoic philosophies. It didn't always work.
Anyway, short summary. I'm very happy I read the book, but boy was it hard to get through. Marcus was a fascinating man, and McLynn definitely captures that. Unfortunately, he captures it in a rather dull fashion.
Give the review a look and you'll see what I mean.
