For you World of Warcraft fans

If you break the law, you might not want to play this game.  Or at the very least, don't let anybody else know that you're a fan of the game.

Unfortunately, that's something that fugitive Alfred Hightower didn't know.  And now he's being extradited from Canada, his destination when he went on the lam, after police used his love of the game to track down where he was.

According to the Kokomo Perspective:

"Two weeks ago, Howard County Sheriff’s Department deputy Matt Roberson tracked down a wanted fugitive through one of the most popular games on the Internet — World of Warcraft. And he got his man.

“You hear stories about you can’t get someone through the Internet,” said Roberson. “Guess what? You can. I just did. Here you are, playing World of Warcraft, and you never know who you’re playing with.”"

So if you're on the run, you might want to give your WoW character a rest, at least for a little while. Not to mention not going on Facebook and bragging about your criminal exploits.

  1. It just goes to show how addicting the game is. That and how common sense isn't common. Hmmmm. LoL

  2. Definitely a lot of both. :) Common sense is a rare commodity these days. And the game is quite popular, though I think it might finally have reached its peak.
