Podcast update

This isn't an update to the number of podcasts I listen to. No, it's an update on the podcast I'd like to do at the office.

Some of you may remember that I've come up with the idea of doing a podcast about the MET program, and the rest of what our office (External Programs & Learning Technologies) does.

It would advertise our programs, but also talk about educational technology (that's what the MET program does). We'd have some interviews, maybe, and just try to find something that would be interesting and entertaining to listen to.

Just wanted to give you an update on that, since it's been percolating since the beginning of March.

Right now, it's a bit on the backburner, though I'm still keeping it alive.  It's been a hectic month, and I haven't been in the office for part of it, so nothing's really been done.

It's Year-End (you financial types know what that is, but it's basically when all of the financial information has to be squared away for the new financial year that started on April 1), so our manager has been a bit busy.  He's the one I took the idea too, and he is enthusiastic about it.

Then I went on vacation, and had a bunch of work that needed to be done IMMEDIATELY dumped on me my first day back.  I've only been back 4 days (we're now off today and Monday for Easter), so nothing's moved forward on it.

It is, however, still running through my mind, with ideas coming to me occasionally (especially as I listen to more and more podcasts of the type I want ours to be).  Still no word on a co-host, though, which may make or break it.  I really don't want to do it alone, not just out of fear/nervousness, but also because I think it would be better with two people bouncing things off of each other.

I will keep you posted, but don't hold your breath waiting for it or anything.  I can definitely tell you that it won't happen until later this year, and I wouldn't want to lose any readers!

I know at least one reader is interested in this, so I thought I would post an update.  Maybe I can convince her to co-host.

Nah, that would mean extra money paid out.  Then I know it wouldn't happen.  Besides, you don't really need a sexy co-host for an audio production.

But a guy can dream!
